Data Reviewer

SUMMARY:

Responsible for reviewing analytical data and test results from one or more areas of analytical chemistry to ensure accuracy and compliance with environmental testing regulations, methodologies, and applicable client and program requirements.

Compensation: $19.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform detailed review of analytical data and test results to ensure compliance with established policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and client and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken in response to quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) exceptions in accordance with SOPs and established guidelines.
  • Adhere to corporate and local policies and procedures in all assigned responsibilities.
  • Identify errors or discrepancies in data and resolve issues prior to the release of reports to clients.
  • Interpret and apply departmental policies, procedures, and applicable laws or regulations; seek guidance when needed.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency and service delivery through continuous improvement and active participation in team efforts.
  • Promote and support Pace’s mission through professional, cooperative interactions that foster a positive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related field; AND two (2) years of experience with sample preparation, analysis, data reduction, and/or data review in a regulatory-compliant environmental testing environment; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Required Knowledge:

  • Environmental testing methods and regulatory program requirements.
  • Analytical instrumentation and associated data outputs (e.g., GC, GC/MS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, HPLC, LC/MS, IC, wet chemistry, microbiology).
  • QA/QC protocols and compliance standards.
  • Laboratory data management and processing systems.
  • Effective communication practices for working with internal teams and clients.
  • Computer applications related to the work.
  • Proper business English, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Techniques for interacting with diverse individuals in professional settings.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in an office setting and use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Vision to read printed materials and computer screens.
  • Hearing and verbal communication skills for in-person and telephone interactions.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in laboratory and office settings. Exposure to chemicals, fumes, gases, noxious odors, and related laboratory conditions may occur.
