St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco operates the Multi-Service Center - Northern California’s largest homeless shelter, the Division Circle Navigation Center for chronically homeless individuals and couples and the Riley Center - Domestic Violence shelter and services for survivors. SUMMARY: 

The Assistant Program Director is responsible for assisting the Program Director in running the Multi-Service Center (MSC). This position provides direct supervision and support to supervisors and staff. The Assistant Program Director is a leadership position responsible for the overall operations, and delivery of services at MSC ensuring adherence to City of San Francisco HSH policies and procedures and applicable corporate policies and procedures. This is a Full-Time, Exempt, non-union position.


SALARY AND BENEFIT OVERVIEW: 

The Assistant Program Director annual salary range is $73,000 to $76,220 DOE. St. Vincent de Paul of San Francisco offers a robust benefits package that includes:

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and assist the Program Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of MSC. 
  • Ensure shift supervisors, case managers, and support staff areon-site, and equipped to provide the best care and service to program participants.
  • Supervise and coach, Shift Supervisors and Assistant Shift Supervisors issuing disciplinary action as needed.  
  • Overseethe Work Faire recipients, GA program workers, and volunteers.
  • Ensure that the client intake process is adhered to, and all pertinent client information is accurately recorded on all data systems.
  • Implement the policies and proceduresof theMSC.  
  • Ensure that the shelter training manual is adhered to and understood by all staff.
  • Ensure consistent provision of allservices.
  • Motivate Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors by providing leadership, guidance, and constructive feedback.
  • Participate in staff meetings, as appropriate.Occasionally lead staff meetings as needed.
  • Assistin the screening, interviewing, and onboarding of staff as needed.
  • Participate inappropriateongoingstaff development and training.
  • Ensure SVDP program and client data systems are updated regularly, andassistprogram data staff, and leadership team with data requests, and system database updates.
  • Oversee all facilities, including maintenance, food service, supportive services,andoutsidevendor relationships.
  • Work evening and weekend shifts to meet program needs.
  • Perform otherappropriate dutiesas assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree in Social Services,BusinessManagement,orarelatedfield. Work experience may be accepted in lieu of afour-yeardegree.
  • Demonstrated supervisoryskills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Prior work experience withhomelessnessissues, preferably in direct services.
  • Knowledge of community agencies and networking. 
  • Ability to de-escalate crisis situations and make decisions under pressure. 
  • Ability to multi-task and stay focused in a chaotic environment. 
  • Sensitivity to the needs of diverse ethnic and cultural populations.
  • Ability tomaintainprofessional boundaries with staff, volunteers,and clients.
  • Growth-oriented team player.
  • Bilingual; English and Spanish or Mandarin preferred.
  • Complies withand supports the overall mission, corevaluesand vision of St. Vincent de Paul ofSanFrancisco. 

Covid vaccination and negative result on TB test required.
